Rocky Mountain National Park - July 2008These are pictures from a climbing trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in July 2008 with Andrew Richardson and Craig Sovka. On our hike in we passed a couple of 10-year-old kids who noticed our ropes and helmets and wanted to know if we were "tech". We told them that actually we were gumbies. We bivvied at the head of Glacier Gorge and did two climbs, the N buttress of Pagoda and the N ridge of Spearhead. The climb on Pagoda involves 4 or 5 pitches of 5.6/5.7 and then a pleasant, exposed fourth-class ridge that ends right at the summit. The N ride of Spearhead is about the same grade and length; it's cleaner on account of seeing more traffic, although the position isn't quite as spectacular.
